JANICE CASTRO-REED

I've been living the past 17+ years on borrowed time, thanks to my "kidney hero," Todd Castro. To save my life, my brother donated one of his kidneys to me on November 23, 1994. Most recently, I received a second kidney transplant on April 27th, 2012, from my "kidney angel," and now live to pay it forward.

Words can never express the gratitude and appreciation I have for having been blessed twice with the Gift of Life. Today, I live my life with intent and purpose and am committed to helping others with their individual challenges while they are working towards winning the fight against chronic kidney disease.

Through advocacy, community outreach, and education, I am dedicated to helping raise awareness for (1) organ, eye, and tissue donation, (2) living organ donation, (3) preventing, detecting, and treating chronic kidney disease, and (4) mentoring others who are living with chronic kidney disease.

I enjoy sharing my personal story and experiences of almost 20 years of living with chronic kidney disease. You're welcome to contact me on
Facebook if there's anything you'd like to talk about that I may be of some help with.

Best wishes...and love your kidneys!                                                            Janice
